Albuquerque Carrier Saves Lives of Mother and Daughter

Although you may only hear stories in the media of terrible gun owners harming others with their firearms, believe it or not, there are still good people out there who use their guns as tools to save others lives. One Albuquerque man proved this by selflessly saving a mother and daughter from the mother’s estranged, attacking husband.

This incident occurred on Sunday night when the mother and daughter were out driving. As they reached the cross streets of Gibson and Yale Boulevards, the aforementioned estranged husband, who may have been following the pair, took the car that he was in and crashed into them.

Luckily this crash did not harm the ladies, but what followed did. The man, seeing that his two targets were still moving got out of his vehicle and produced a firearm which he used to fire into the other car. In the chaos, one of the rounds fired hit the daughter in the arm.

But even this wasn’t enough for the attacking man. No, following his firing, the man pulled the daughter out of the car by force and began beating her in the middle of the street.

This disgusting assault, in its own way, was a blessing in disguise, however. It caused a 12 year veteran of the National Guard, who was armed at the time to intervene in the scene. He took out his gun and fired at the attacker, striking true, killing him and thus ending the threat against the two women’s lives.

According to police reports, the mother and daughter were grateful for the veteran interceding in the attack. According to Albuquerque police officer Simon Drobik, “She (The Mother) said, ‘He saved our lives, I mean, that’s how much she was in fear of getting killed by this guy.”

So when you listen to all of the anti-gun chatter in this news cycle, remember that stories like these occur all over the country every day and show that guns can be used for heroism as well.

I carry daily. I practice on the range often, and I do dry-fire practice almost daily. I want to be ready incase I am needed. I hope and pray I never have to use my gun on the street, but if I have to….I’m ready!
